America Builds Better
America Builds Better is a builder-focused podcast and media platform dedicated to the people, ideas, and innovations shaping how America builds.
Hosted by industry veteran Jared Ledford, the show dives into real conversations with builders, manufacturers, dealers, technology partners, and community leaders across post-frame construction, steel buildings, sheds, and beyond. This isn’t surface-level talk or sales fluff — it’s practical insight, hard-earned lessons, and honest discussions about growth, operations, marketing, leadership, and the future of the building industry.
America Builds Better is the next chapter in a journey that began with The Steel Kings Podcast, a long-running show that became a trusted voice within the steel building and shed industry. Built on that foundation, America Builds Better expands the conversation — bringing in broader perspectives, deeper strategy, and a stronger focus on education, innovation, and community impact.
Whether you’re a builder looking to scale, a manufacturer refining your systems, a dealer navigating modern marketing, or someone passionate about how local businesses and industries grow, America Builds Better is here to inform, challenge, and elevate the conversation.
Because strong communities start with strong builders — and America builds better when knowledge is shared.

We have talked to Accuform, we've talked to Gary from Shieldwall. This is going to be episode three. So we're talking to our friends at Drip Stop. And I can tell you, as a guy who is uh selling buildings most of the time, metal buildings, post-frame buildings, that's what I do every day. Um, the one thing I keep on my desk that I take out and I talk to every customer about is this little guy right here. And if you're in need of any kind of moisture barrier, right, you know, we all know what double bubble looks like. It's junk. Um, it just doesn't cut it. And I can tell you, when you sell it, um, you're probably going to get a call in a year or two from the customer saying, you know what, I love my building, but that that that moisture barrier you sold me really not very good. Um, I used to get those calls all the time. I'm happy to work with uh businesses like Graber Post that offer drip stop directly to you when you do those uh purchases. Drip stop comes right along with it. Um I can tell you the guys at Drip Stop, drip stop's 30 years in business. Uh, absolute best way of dealing with condensation on non-insulated metal roofs. It has been tried and tested in every climate condition across the globe and has proven to be a simpler and more economical way to get that moisture barrier on a metal roof. The membrane will absorb the water caused by the condensation, thus preventing dripping from the roof. Drip stop. Drip stop serves as an added layer of protection for the metal in the corrosive environments while also improving inside and outside acoustic properties. I can tell you from somebody who has sold a lot of metal buildings with drip stop, um, it's a really good product. Customers are super happy with it. It also gives a nice finished look. I think that's one thing that people just don't realize with a metal building. It's got kind of a raw, hollow sound when you stand inside of it. Drip stop helps with that. Um, I love that they call out the acoustic because I do that in my sales pitch. I can tell you I've got Rob and Brett from Drip Stop. We're gonna bring them in here. They're gonna be at the trade show with us in York, along with our friends from Graeber Post, Idea Room, Smart Build, E Impact, Strongwall, you name them, they're gonna be there. So come check it out with us. In the meantime, Brett and Rob. Welcome to America, guys. How are you guys?
SPEAKER_02Good. Good morning, Jared. Thanks for having us. Thrilled to be here.
SPEAKER_01For sure, for sure. We've been trying to put this together for a while. So we've actually uh bumped shoulders and elbows at these trade shows a couple of different times, and uh I'm catching you both out on the road, which I appreciate you guys taking the time to get on with us this morning. We're hyping up everybody for the trade show in York, and you guys know I am a big fan of dripstop, so I am really honored and pleased to have you guys on the program. Um, I just want you guys to share the story, right? You know, this is a long-term company, this has been in business a long time. But tell us how whatever you can stop dripstop story, and then give us the overview of how it works. Because I think a lot of people just don't understand it. So hearing it directly from you guys is an impact.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. Well, uh, you know, the history of it, you know, it it really started in in uh uh country called Slovenia, uh, the former Yugoslavia, um, over in Europe about 1996, and was designed to uh again, you know, catch condensation, stop dripping, uh, you know, in in pole barns in various facilities, uh, you know, that was you know damaging the equipment. Um so that was in you know back in '96. Um here in the early 2000s, it it made its way to the United States. Um we've uh like you mentioned earlier, we've uh actually drip stop has been sold and used on about every continent uh on the globe except Antarctica. Um so we are tried to and tested in in all climate conditions. Um long about uh 2020, uh Phillips, the manufacturer, the original manufacturer of dripstop was purchased by Freudenberg. Um so we're now under the the Freudenberg flag. Um, and uh, you know, it's it's great. It's a big company, so we've got a lot more resources to use.
SPEAKER_01Same great product, same expectations. If you've been using drip stop for a long time, it's the same product, it's just got more muscle behind its growth, right? We obviously want, you know, our goal here at America Builds Better is to hype up businesses, products, services that have an American-made stamp behind them, number one. So drip stop is made here in the United States. There's a lot of imitators, there's a lot of imitation products out there. Um, you know, not to take away from other types of bubble insulation, if that's your gig, listen, I'm not here to dump on you. I'm just here to heal, I'm just here to tell you what I know to be fact from a metal building sales perspective or a pole barn sales perspective. You're gonna get more long-term use out of drip stop than you will out of bubble insulation. So I didn't get a chance to introduce you guys. Brett, Rob, introduce yourselves real quick. Brett, I love the I love the top, you know, I love the history of it. So tell me about you guys, and then I want to ask you guys some very specific questions that I know people are thinking about when they think about drip stop.
SPEAKER_02Sure.
SPEAKER_03Well, yeah, I'm um I'm sorry, Rob, go ahead, Brett Uh, my name's Rob Christman. I am the business development manager for drip stop in the southeast region and including Texas.
SPEAKER_02And I I'm I'm also the business development uh representative for the Northeast in the United States and Canada.
SPEAKER_01Awesome. What we figured out, what we figured out recently is that we're all kind of neighbors to each other, which makes it even more fun to kind of get on the phone and talk to each other. I can tell you, I have, you know, I keep saying this, but I want to really drive it home. As somebody who has sold hundreds, probably close to a thousand, maybe a little bit more than a thousand buildings in my career selling metal buildings and pole barns. If you guys are sitting back and having any kind of concerns, I mean, all over the United States, there's there's worries of condensation on a metal roof. I don't know that there's really anywhere when it gets really humid and hot and cools down that there's not going to be some of that moisture coming down from the ceiling. This is this is a product that applies directly to the sheeting. So that's the question I want to ask you guys, and and I'll ask you first, Rob. Like, walk me through when you guys do a setup for a company to actually do drip stop. They've got roll forming equipment, they've got any old rollformer. Let's say they've got a 15-year-old rollformer. What do they need to make it be compatible with drip stop?
SPEAKER_03What we do is we provide the applicator that goes in front of the rollformer and the brand, the age of the rollformer, none of that makes any difference as long as we have enough room between the decoiler and the line to put the uh applicator in place. Um, we provide that at no charge to the customer. It gets shipped, the rep, like Brett myself, the other couple guys. We come out, we put the machine together, we put it in place, and then we run test panels and kind of give a training on how to set the machine up, how to run the drip stop, um, and kind of give them an overview. And uh it's uh again, like I said, the applicator is provided free of charge. It comes in two pieces. One piece is a set of pinch rollers, it's only about eight inches deep. It gets mounted to the floor in front of the rollformer. Then there's a cart that actually holds the roll drip strap, and it's all fed through. Uh, there's no um no motors or anything with the equipment. It's all the metal pulls the drip stop through the rollformer. Um, and it just as it goes through, the backers peeled off, goes on to a collection roll, and the collection roll gets bigger as the roll of drip stop gets smaller, and then the panels come out the other end, and the drip stops on there and ready to go to the job site. Once it gets the job site, it's ready to go up on the roof without any additional needs for anything else in the field.
SPEAKER_01Okay. So, what I love about it, and I'm glad that you said it, is any old roll former, you don't have to have the top of the line piece of equipment. You don't have to have a brand new roll former. If you've been doing this for a long time and you've got a tried and true roll former that you just love, there's a really good chance I'd say it's probably above 98% that they can get drip stop for you. There might be that one-off machine. I don't want to promise everybody, but I can tell you I've been in a lot of shops that have it and many different pieces of roll forming equipment, many different setups. Everybody's different, everybody's situation is unique. But I can tell you it's a it's a painless process, right? I mean, you said it's free for the applicator. I'm assuming there's I'm assuming, and I could be wrong, is there some sort of minimum order that's needed to do that? Do you need to place some sort of minimum order on material before you can get an applicator?
SPEAKER_03No, uh, you can get an applicator with as little as one pallet, which is two rolls of drip stop. Drip stop comes stacked vertically, each roll's two rolls, one on top of the other. Um, and that's important that the customer keeps it stored that way as well. So you don't want drip stop laying on its side, you don't want to get a flat spot in it or anything like that. But you can start with as little as one order, one pallet and an applicator, and you're in the drip stop business.
SPEAKER_01I can tell you, I would challenge anyone who's sitting there, and these are always the conversations that we have on this podcast. Is if you are having issues, what's it gonna take for you to rise above that concern and give drip stop a call? Rob and Brett's contact information will be on all of the social medias and down in the comments on YouTube and things like that. But I can tell you that sounds like a pretty good deal to me. I don't I don't know what you're thinking, but I'm thinking it sounds like a pretty good deal to me. So I know from my standpoint, the next question that becomes, and Brett, I'll go to you on this one. How easy is it to turn drip stop off? Let's say we've got it on, we've got an applicator, we're you know, we're purchasing, we're purchasing the drip stop, but not everybody's selling drip stop. That's a fact. Not if you offer it, not everybody's gonna sell it, and you don't have to offer it on every building. Now, I would challenge metal building manufacturers specifically. The first metal building manufacturer that calls me and says, Hey, we're offering drip stop standard on all of our vertical roofs going forward with no additional charge to the customer, we're just including it in our base price. I will hype you up the first one that calls me. Okay, I can tell you that right now. It is a pain point for me to sell your buildings when I have to charge additional for drip stop. And I know what it costs, and I'll let you guys explain all that kind of stuff, but I can tell you from a from a sales perspective, okay? Metal building companies, pole barn manufacturers, you don't need to charge a lot of extra for this. It's literally going to go through your role former and be applied. It's really no extra work on your part whatsoever. Am I right about that, Brett? I mean, it's pretty easy to do.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, it's pretty it's very, very easy to use, especially once you know we've been in there and got everything set up. Um, so yeah, it's very easy to apply to the steel. You know, it gets like you mentioned and Rob mentioned, it gets pulled through with the uh with the steel, um forms into you know any you know our two major profiles are the R panel and the ag panel. So it completely forms into the valleys and grooves of of both those. Um it it's it's easy to use. Uh to your point, elders love it because it shows up on the job site ready to go. Um all they've got to do is uh you know pull it up on the roof and screw it down. Um yeah, with I I believe your original question was how easy is it to take it on and off the line? Maybe yeah, and that's you're right. You know, in most roll forming shops, not every job is going to require drip stop. Um, but again, you know, like Rob mentioned, uh it's a two-piece um applicator. Um the role of drip stop itself is sitting on a cart with wheels. Um you simply undo one knob, pop that off, and you can push the whole cart out of the way. Um so now you're free to just run steel in for your regular panels. Um when the next drip stop comes comes uh next drip stop job comes up, you simply push the cart back into place, lift the drip stop up so it's touching the steel, and now you're off and run.
SPEAKER_01I've seen I've seen cost vary pretty widely on this. Do you guys have a rough linear foot or square foot estimate on what this costs? And obviously, if you purchase more, I'm I'm not gonna get into the the breakdown of what Rob and Brett do when they when they knock on your door when they come to see you after this. I'll let you guys talk about specific pricing. But for a customer standpoint, when I'm offering this to somebody, it varies so widely by the people who offer it. What would you guys say fair ballpark on what we should be telling customers that this costs per square foot or linear foot? How would you recommend we we talk about that?
SPEAKER_02I usually go uh I usually go with linear foot. Um, I've seen averages anywhere from a dollar ten to a dollar twenty-five. Um, I mean, I know that's quite a quite a span, but it really depends on your location, uh, the competition at that location, right? How many other people are rolling drip stop, um and and what the accessibility is for it. Um so I would say, you know, again, I I I I mainly stay in the the northeastern part of the United States, and and those are numbers that I'm seeing.
SPEAKER_03That's very similar to what I see in the southeast.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, that's very similar to what I see in the southeast. Um the only reason I ask that is because, and again, this is a call to action for you folks. You're listening to me. I want to make it really easy for you to sell product. And if you're selling a pole barn or you're selling a metal building or a shed, whatever it is, your job is not to sell drip stop, your job is to sell buildings. Or in this case, the manufacturer's job is to you know roll form the sheet metal, provide the trusses and the and the poles or the the uppers and the the fully welded trusses, you know, whatever you whatever it is that you're doing, do your job that right way. What I can tell you is is make it affordable for your sales teams, for your dealers to provide a high-end product like drip stop, and you will end up with better feedback from your customers. Okay. That that is, I mean, I'm telling you, I carry this. This is not a sales pitch. Drip stop doesn't sponsor this. I I went after drip stop because I love the product, and from somebody who has been doing this a long time, it is a major benefit to me to not get phone calls three months, six months, nine months, eighteen months. You know, this building is great, but I cannot stop the damn roof from dripping on my car or dripping on my lawnmower or dripping on my storage stuff. Okay. Like I that is, I'm telling you, when I started selling metal buildings, that was the number one complaint I got. And for people that say that it's not an issue, bull crap. I mean, it is an issue, it is an issue across the board. I'm telling you the truth. Um, I dealt with it because when I started, you guys know this story. When I started at Dayton Barnes, I was just a contracted sales rep. Like a lot of you guys listening to me right now. I started as a 1099, I was sourcing my own leads through Facebook Marketplace. I didn't know the first thing about metal buildings or pole barns or nothing. I started with absolutely no knowledge and was given, here, here's what you can do. This is how you can make money, and immediately fell in love with it and immediately started checking the boxes on everything that I wanted to do, the way I wanted to sell metal buildings online or sheds. And I can tell you the one thing I picked up really quickly is if you work with the right manufacturers and metal buildings, the right suppliers and pole barns, the right manufacturers of storage sheds and portable buildings, and they use the right components, you will have a much better end user experience for your customer. And I almost never have manufacturing issues or supply issues or component issues any longer because I've learned from my mistakes. I challenge you guys every week, almost every week, to rise above the bottom. Everybody's chasing themselves to the bottom into this place where you can't make any money anymore selling buildings online. And boy, isn't that a bummer! Boy, if we just all sold better buildings, we could charge more. You know what I'm saying? But we charge more in stupid places, like with something like drip stop. Okay. You guys heard Robin Brad. If it's a dollar 10, $1.25. Again, if you don't know, this doesn't actually take really any work, okay? It applies through the roll forming machine and comes out ready to go. Your guys on the you're gonna pay less in your labor, you're gonna pay less up front. I mean, I'm telling you, the transport on this stuff, try transporting a bunch of bubble insulation. You guys love doing that, right? I know my metal building transporters just love bubble wrap, they hate it. Okay, for manufacturers out there, they can't stand transporting that stuff. It's junk. By the time it gets to the job site, it's been buckled down and strapped down, it's all bent up and looks like crap. Like, here's something that you can get right now that's gonna be applied the same way every time, have a uniform finish, and give you that uniform, you know, that condensation lockdown drip stop, right? No more drips. Period. Did I give you a good job, guys? Is that is that hyping it up enough for you? I mean. Great job. I can tell you, man. I can tell you if you're not giving it a try, call me personally. Seriously. I will tell you everything that I know because I know a lot of times it's hard to call a company, it's hard to get a new product. You're busy. Listen, this is not the one you want to stop over because your competition's doing it. I'm telling you. Tell me about the USA made thing because that's that's big for me. I know there's a lot of imitators, there's a lot of imitators, there's a lot of fake stuff going on. Um, you know, even in the bubble, even in the bubble market, which I know there's a lot of again for my people that are selling bubble wrap, I'm not here to bust on you. Okay, not here to bust on you. Everybody's got a everybody's got a product, everybody's got something they can use. I just like drip stop and metal building applications and pole barn applications, it makes the most sense. But tell me about tell me about how it's produced, tell me about USA made the pride there. I know there's a lot of pride, and there is a lot of imitators right now. And I don't want people to think if they've seen if they've seen a pro if you've seen a product that looks like this that you're not happy with, call me personally, and I'll try to help you navigate why. That's my call to action for you. But Brett or Rob, pick that up for me, man. Because the USA made thing, the quality, I've never had an issue with it. Never.
SPEAKER_02So um prior to that, like I said, all all manufacturing was in Slovenia. Um, so now we've moved all of those operations here to the United States. That makes it much easier for us. Um, you know, hard, you know, no inventory problems, uh, you know, um, strikes um at the docks, shipping, you know, all of that can be can really cost weeks of of deliveries. Um, getting them through getting all of this through duties and customs can be a problem. Um, so we're thrilled. Um, and yeah, we've got everything set up now in Macon, Georgia, um, with the warehouse also at the same location. So all manufacturing and shipping takes place out of uh out of Georgia now. So we're thrilled to have that opportunity.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, that was awesome news for somebody like me who you guys have, is it a 20-year warranty?
SPEAKER_03Is that 20-year warranty 20-year adhesion warranty?
SPEAKER_01Yep, 20-year adhesion warranty. I can tell you, listen, okay, again, I've sold a lot of buildings with drip stop on them. What I figured out recently is one of my manufacturers that I love, I had to clarify with Brett because I did have a little bit of a question about the end product. And I talked to Brett and he's like, I don't know that they're using us anymore, and they might be using a you know a different company, and you know, come to find out they were, and that is a different quality product. So again, I'm noticing it because I'm getting calls from customers, right? And I want to stress that to you. Like, if you've been using drip stop and you're noticing something different, contact drip stop. They could use the information, trust me. They're not going to be opposed to figuring out if there was listen, everybody has a bad day. There could be a role that gets mismanufactured. Listen, that's why it's got a warranty on it. Okay, we'll we'll work with you on something like that. But I can tell you, knock on wood, I've never had an issue with it ever. And I've probably sold a couple hundred buildings with fully wrap on the inside drip stop. I love it because from a from an aesthetic, it's aesthetically pleasing too. Let me stress that. When you walk into a metal building that has drip stop, it looks better. It looks better, it sounds better. Okay, I think that's the one thing that I love that you guys are actually calling that out because for the longest time I never saw it on the website. I always told customers, I the one mistake I made was not getting drip stop when I bought my metal building, but that's how I started with the metal building journey, right? I I was a customer first, and I bought from somebody who didn't tell me about drip stop. Shame on him. Now I know better. Now I can give you the feedback because I've stood in buildings and talked in buildings and worked in buildings that don't have it and that have it. And I can tell you a metal building is an echo chamber without it. That's the other thing your customers won't. They will not know that.
SPEAKER_02And and and and that's a good point, uh, Jared. Um, and I know you've mentioned it a few times. Yeah, um, drip stop does reduce noise echo inside the building. Um, depending on the size of the roof and the pitch of the roof, uh, you know, it it varies, but let's let's call it four to five decibels at least at a minimum. Oh, yeah, um noise reduction. And we've we've done testing on that, and and that that is the case. Um and yeah, to to you know, to your other point, yeah, you know, there are there are you know, we we've got uh maybe one primary competitor out there, and then occasionally, you know, someone will come in and and try to duplicate, but um, you know, to date they've they've not had much success there. Um, but yeah, that's yeah, you know, yeah, there's competition in everything, right? Competition makes you better. Sure, sure.
SPEAKER_01Um competition creates yeah, competition creates that creates that drive in you to do better, right? Yeah, and I'm not here to bash on anybody. Yeah, I'm not here to bash on anybody. I can just tell you find another moisture barrier product that you can run through a war roll forming machine made in the U.S. number one, serviced by a fully U.S. sales team in operation that will come to you literally. They're traveling today, they're taking their time to give you guys a little bit of a call to action here. Um, I can tell you this drip stop, condensation control, corrosion protection saves time and money. It's durable, it increases job site safety, it's reliable, it's maintenance free, and they have great customer service. I can tell you from somebody who's been selling it for a long time, I love working with drip stop. Okay. What I want to tell you guys, and we're gonna have drip stop back, but I want to tell you this much. We are going to be in York PA, okay, and I can tell you the guys at Drip Stop have these, number one. They also have some new ones, Brett was telling me about, and I'll leave that to surprise. But I can tell you this right here, from a dealer perspective, okay. If you're selling metal buildings and you get paid a commission, let me tell you something. This is the easiest little raise you're gonna get. Talk to your manufacturers about carrying drip stop, okay. That's why I like selling it, not because it's so great. And I mean, I'm not benefiting from it. I benefit from the fact that I make more money when I sell drip stop, and I make my customer happier when I sell drip stop. That's fact, that's as simple as it gets. Whether you're making 10, 15, 20, whatever it is, you're making some money when you sell drip stop. So do yourself a favor and tell your customer that they should pick it up on their building. It's gonna make it easier on you in the long run, I promise you, and you'll make more money. That's my call to action for you dealers today. Don't forget that you make money when you sell additional add-ons to your buildings. You guys selling these 24 by 30 non-insulated, I don't know, two eight by eights, uh 24 by 30 by 10 for two eight by eights and a walk-in door for like eight grand, and the building looks like it was put together with duct tape and glue. Shame on you. Sell some good buildings. Like, that's my call to action for you this week. Sell a real building, get with somebody like Graber Post and sell a pole barn. Sell yourself a really good building, like reliable metal buildings, right? Like American Steel. I can tell you that. Work with companies that have the best interests of the customers at heart. Work with the work with the teams like drip stop that want to make your customers successful and make those buildings last a lifetime. What do you guys have to offer for me for York? What's our call to action for the crowd? Anything?
SPEAKER_02Yeah, well, um, we'd love to talk to you, especially if you're not using dripstop now and are and are curious about it. We'll have we'll have all the details there. Um, all the numbers are going to be there. Um we are in booth 317, um, and that's gonna be here in a couple weeks on on June 10th and 11th in in York. Um so like I said, I'll I I'll certainly be there. Um looking forward to talking to uh all manufacturers. Um but yeah, that's you know, come stop by, see us, pick up some samples, get some more detail. Um, and and for everyone else out there who can't make the show, uh feel you know, ask for drip stop by name. And if you can't find it in your region, reach out to one of us via the website, and I'll point you in the direction of of the closest uh uh drip stop dealer. Um yeah, that's that that that'll be my call to action. Let's let's talk in New York.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, we have a great time when we get to these trade shows because we can really sit down, relax with you, have a time, talk about it a little bit, and get into the the raw numbers of it. That's what we're there for. So there's plenty of time. There's plenty of time to hit the expo floor. This is a little bit different than most. Uh my buddy Gary says this is where people um that sign the back of the check, not the front of the check. I think that's how he puts it, something like that, or signs the front of the check, not the back of the check. But I can tell you, I have always had a great time at Gary's shows because it's where people come and they actually buy. I've closed more deals at Shieldwall shows than at any other show. And I think it's just because you have the time to really interact and you have the right people in front of you. So if you're in the market for anything like trip stop or marketing or SEO or you know, I'm just looking at the list here. You guys, as you come in the door, so as you guys get to York, I'm gonna be right there. Me, Jared, right by the door. I'll be able to say hi to everybody. I'm gonna be like loving my life, right? I'll be right by the door. America Builds Better. We'll welcome you into uh the post-frame world plane builder show in York. Our friends from Drip Stop are straight back. They're gonna be kind of down the center section on the left, right by Asco. Asco's the big sponsor this year. They got a huge booth space, it's gonna be awesome. But drip stop's got a great spot, man. You guys got you guys got a right right there. So I'm in the corner with Define and Idea Room, Engraver. Um, so I'm gonna have to come over and and spend some time with you guys in your booth and hang out and see if we can get some drip stop in some future. I can tell you that. Rob, brother, how are you doing, man? As we wrap up the episode, what kind of call to actions do you have, man? Anything for us to see, man? I know you're busy.
SPEAKER_03I know you're busy. Yeah, tons of things happen. Um, one thing I kind of wanted to touch on. Hold up that piece of drip stop again for me, Jared. Um, we talked about the application process, we talked about how the we supply the applicator and how the the gets fed through the machine. Um the one thing we didn't really talk about there, right there, if you're looking at the material itself, um, and for those who have never seen drip stop or felt it, it feels like salt paper. Um and people probably a lot of people will say, Well, how does how does this work? You know, it's there's hardly anything to it. Um, and to that, there's two things. One, if you see the manufacturing process of the drip stop, it comes, it starts out, it's spun plastic, and it it's about a foot, two foot high and thick. And as it goes through the combing process, it comes out that. So if you can imagine a stack of spun fabric that looks like cotton being about two feet thick, and then getting compressed to that point, that gives you an idea of how dense it is. And that material then it holds one quart of water per every 10 square feet, which is more than enough to keep anything from dripping. And then throughout the day, like Brett touched on, throughout the day, that water and that moisture evaporates right back into the air and is ready to go and work the next night. So it's not like a one-time use, it's it it works, it does its job every day and just continues this the cycle. Um, so it's really incredible if you to see what the material looks like before and what it looks like when it actually comes out and goes on the drip stop.
SPEAKER_01I I can tell you this much. I've probably had this piece of drip stop, no joke, for probably two and a half years. Um, maybe longer than that, maybe three. I'm not really sure. I have done this, this rub down test so many times. I mean, I have probably rubbed this piece of drip stop, and what what I find is I keep it on my desk and I find myself playing with it sometimes because it's almost like a little fidget toy for me because it's got this, yeah, it's got this tactile, right? It does feel like cotton, but it doesn't wick, it doesn't like pull away. You can't get this stuff to like nap off. It's really crazy. And I've been doing this a long time. Like a fresh, like a freshly, a freshly rolled piece of drip stop is gonna look pretty similar to this. Like it doesn't look much different, right? And it doesn't wear, you know. Obviously, right, if you spill it or you bump into it or you spill oil on it, it's gonna have a big oil spot on it, right? Like, let's get real. But I can tell you this if it's up on the ceiling, it's very likely to ever show anything other than this. I've never seen a stain, I've never seen it do anything other than look like this in a building, okay? And that that in itself, that in itself, just the just the visual alone is enough for the kind of cost you're talking about, the kind of benefit of you've been playing with that piece for two and a half years.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, this piece. If you come by the booth, you can take a piece of drip stop, take a metal pen, and rub it on there as hard as you can. It won't tear, it won't pull fibers loose, it's it's it's more durable than you can even imagine.
SPEAKER_01You know, the crazy part about it is, and as I'm thinking about it here, you know, the oils in your skin and hands. That doesn't even like I mean, I mean it's crazy. I mean, I I'm seriously thinking I I've probably had this piece of drip stop for two, two and a half, three years. We've got several pieces out in the showroom. So this piece is the one I keep in my office, and I even have one in my bag. Like, I have uh you guys have hooked me up with probably a dozen of these over the last couple years, and we use them all the time. And I'm sitting here rubbing this thing and I'm thinking, it doesn't even take on the oil in your skin. That's crazy, that's nuts. So I can tell you a very, very cool high-end American-made product. That's what we love on America Builds Better. I can tell you guys, thank you very much for making the time. I know you're busy. Rob said something to me when we were on the uh call before we got started. It is graduation season. If you guys have a graduate or are celebrating someone, good luck to them. Motivate them to do something, motivate them to get out in the world and get excited about whatever it is the next step in their life is. I can tell you, if you're listening to me and you've got a kid, I've got three, um, that's looking for something to do, get them into the trades. We need tradesmen, we need people who are going to be building these buildings, we need people who are gonna be manufacturing these buildings, we need steel workers, we need all the above. Because right now in the society we live in, we need people working hard and we need to get together and make sure that we're rising up as a team.
